Elementary Education
Elementary Education
Elementary Education within the Educational Services Division directs the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programming related to instruction for students in Kindergarten through Grade Five in 25 schools. The Welcome to Kindergarten booklet provides information about kindergarten registration and program descriptions. Frameworks for Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies guide the development of course guides that ensure the delivery of a consistent curriculum that promotes high expectations for teachers and students, while providing consistency from school to school and teacher to teacher. Elementary students enhance their education through Art, Counseling/Life Skills, Physical Education, Music, Technology Skills, and use of Media Resources. Students in grades 3-5 have access to an individual safe email account through Gaggle to apply their technology skills, complete school projects, and communicate with their teacher(s) and classmates.

Grade level Curriculum Handbooks provide an overview of the content areas, curriculum descriptors, assessments, and learner indicators. A Master Handbook provides parents with important information about Policies and Rules that govern the Millard Public Schools.

Three additional Mini-Magnets are available at the elementary level: Core Academy, Montessori, and the Primary Years Program/International Baccalaureate. Other programs at the Elementary level include: English Language Learners, Grades 4-5 Orchestra, Grade 5 Instrumental Music, High Ability Learners, Literacy Intervention, Special Education, Summer School, and Title I.

Additionally, Elementary Education plans, coordinates and conducts a variety of teacher training activities throughout the year to ensure that students are taught utilizing best teaching practices that maximizes learning for all learners. District-wide instructional delivery and trends in student progress are monitored, assessed, improved upon and shared with school leadership teams.

Parents are able to monitor their child’s grades and attendance through the Parent Portal on Infinite Campus. The registration process is available at this link.

Kids Network, a Before and After School Program is offered at each elementary school by the Millard Public Schools Foundation. Registration information and fees are available at their site.
